WASHINGTON D.C. December 20, 1948
Callum Bradford walks down the halls of Congress, holding his briefcase, followed by a swarm of his fellow colleagues behind him, all of them looking very important and threatening. This is all for the cameras, of course, who snap pictures one after the other, which Senator Bradford has no doubt will appear on the first page of all major newspapers.
As it should be.
When he gets to the privacy of his office, he sinks into his armchair, the leather creaking under his weight. While the truly important Senator was pouring himself a glass of scotch to rid himself of the thoughts of the evening, his secretary came running pathetically with her long heels into the room, her small red curls bouncing, fluttering awkwardly by the entrance..
He grunts as greeting.
“Senator,” Polly starts, her tiny voice squeaking, her eyes firmly on the clipboard clutched in her hands, “The gentlemen are ready for you.”
“Where?” Senator Bradford grouches back, twirling his drink around.
“At the Stork. You’ll have the entire dining hall and Club room to yourselves - for dinner and drinks.”
Bradford groans as he stands up, the simple movement too extensive for his fat old body. “Get me my coat,” he mutters.

The New York streets are in full swing when he gets there; the lights and the commotion all blend together to give Callum one big headache. He groans and leans his head on the headrest as his car braves the traffic of New York.
For the first time, the pieces were all screwed up- all thanks to that stupid girl. She and her ragtag group of friends- amateurs who didn’t know how to play the political game- were butting in. Margaret Carter was nothing but an annoying little scorpion- one that Callum would (and will- mind you; when the time is right) crush her under his feet.
But everything Callum Bradford worked for, generations and centuries of work was about to be washed down the drain if they weren’t careful.

I feel like there needs to be some kind of post for MCU fans on How To Write About Africa because I feel like there’s a lot of people out there who want to write about Wakanda and T'Challa but are worried about being problematic and that makes me sad because there’s SO MUCH GREAT meta to be had about T'Challa and Wakanda but at the same time there’s a lot of legitimate concerns about perpetuating racist stereotypes and yeah.
T'Challa and Wakanda could be such a great way to introduce people to amazing sci-fi concepts that people should know
This is SO needed.
It’s so easy to be like ‘just try it!’ but the problem with this website is that people don’t think its okay for people to make mistakes. I’ve gotten messages from people who want to write about T’Challa/Wakanda but are nervous about how their work will be perceived and its so sad.
We really need to gather some people who’d be interested in writing a nice little info post!
